Service learning and community service

Every degree program at Broadview University incorporates service-learning into the classroom. We define service learning as “learning by doing through an act of giving”—in other words, service learning helps students refine the skills they learn in the classroom and build their professional networks while benefiting the greater community.

Community service is a broader category that includes almost any unpaid activity that benefits the community, and our staff and students regularly participate in these activities. In any given week, you’ll likely hear about students, staff and instructors doing something out in the community to demonstrate We Care.
