Service-learning
Service-learning is a required element of every student’s education at Broadview University. It combines meaningful community service and course learning objectives to enrich our students’ academic experiences and improve our communities.
Students work with their instructors to identify areas of need and develop practical service projects to help fulfill those needs.
Community events and organizations
Participating in and hosting community events are key elements of campus life at Broadview University. Some examples of our community participation include:
- Community service day: Each of our campuses chooses a service project to accomplish on our annual spring community service day.
- Parades and festivals: From 4th-of-July parades to community festivals, our campuses participate in local festivities, demonstrating their community pride and support.
- Chambers of Commerce: All Broadview University campuses belong to their local Chamber of Commerce departments and participate in Chamber activities in their communities.
- Blood drives: Our campuses respond to the constant need for blood donations by hosting quarterly blood drives that are open to the community, students, staff and faculty.
Charitable support
We effectively use our resources to help address community needs. Our students organize fundraisers for causes such as animal rescue shelters, homeless shelters and cancer research. Our university often matches the students’ efforts, doubling the impact. We also support charitable organizations through partnerships, sponsorships, volunteer time and financial donations.
