Combining Education and Experience

At Broadview University, we understand that knowledge is much more powerful when it is applied outside of the classroom. Our business management courses are developed with input from employers and taught by professionals in the business world. Students enrolled in the program gain unique insight and experience as they build relationships with these professionals. We also offer an optional internship program, allowing students to gain valuable experience and earn academic credit at the same time. We offer a number of schedule options to make it easier than ever to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Choose from online coursework or on-campus classes, day or night. This flexibility enables most students to earn a bachelor’s degree in as few as 36 months by attending classes year-round and full time. At Broadview University, we also allow students to transfer credit from other learning institutions; as many as 75 percent of the required 180 credits may be obtained from prior learning and work experience.

Supervisory Management

Students learn roles and responsibilities of direct line managers. Practical training includes employee orientation and training, coaching, motivation, employee assignment, task supervision, performance assessment, compensation, reviews, conflict resolution and dealing with labor/ management issues.

 

International Business

This course is an overview of international business. Topics addressed include theories of international trade, foreign direct investment, evolution of the international monetary system, balance of payments, multinational business management, business in communist and post-communist economies, legal and political aspects of international business, socio-cultural dimensions, technology transfer, international human resource management, economic integration, ethical issues for multinational corporations and the future of international business.

 

Operations Management

This course covers traditional operations management activities, such as inventory control, scheduling, project management and forecasting. Those activities are discussed in the context of quality management, supply chain management and other approaches to operational management.
